The book of Little Dow Dreams

Between November 2025 and February 2026, while travelling through Phuket and Malaysia, I carried a small sketchbook with me almost everywhere. Within its pages emerged seventy-five small works, drawings and paintings made with gouache, acrylic and oil stick, accompanied by handwritten thoughts and observations. Together they became The Book of Little Dow Dreams: a visual diary where memories, dreams and fleeting moments found a temporary home.
The Book of Little Dow Dreams is a collection of seventy-five works on paper, each measuring only 16 × 11 cm, created between November 2025 and February 2026 during my time in Phuket and Malaysia.
The small format invited immediacy. The book travelled with me everywhere, in cafés, on terraces, during journeys and quiet mornings. Whenever an image, a colour or a thought appeared, it found its way onto a page. Some pages became abstract landscapes, others transformed into faces, symbols or small painted poems. Between the paintings I wrote fragments of text: observations, questions and thoughts that might otherwise have disappeared.
The works were never intended as finished paintings or preparatory sketches. They exist somewhere between diary, notebook and autonomous artwork. Together they form a private map of a particular winter, an archive of emotions, encounters and moments of solitude.
A dream is often forgotten the moment we wake up. This small book became my way of holding on to a few of them a little longer.
The book closed, the journey ended, but the little dreams continue to live their own lives.
