Winter in Thailand (2026)
Summer Exhibition 2026 22 May – 15 September 2026 Private Artspace, Oliva, Spain Photos: Hock Khoe (except 2) This exhibition presents a selection of paintings and works on paper created during my winter stay in Thailand between late 2025 and early 2026. Produced across several temporary studios and places of reflection, the works explore an evolving visual language moving between abstraction, blurred imagery and Excavated Figuration. Presented within the intimate setting of my Private Artspace in Oliva, the exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to experience the paintings as they were intended in dialogue with light, architecture and one another. Visits are by appointment only, allowing each encounter with the work to remain personal, unhurried and uninterrupted.
Preparing the Stage (Preview 2026)
15 April – 20 May 2026 Private Artspace, Oliva, Spain Every exhibition begins long before the first visitor arrives. Over five weeks, the Private Artspace in Oliva gradually transformed into the setting for the presentation of works created during my European winter in Thailand. Framing, placement, lighting and the dialogue between the paintings were carefully considered, allowing the exhibition to take shape naturally. These weeks of preparation became part of the creative process itself a period of reflection, refinement and anticipation before opening the doors for the Preview on 22 May 2026.
Between Exhibitions
Between Exhibitions 2024 – 2025 Not every important chapter in an artist’s life takes place inside a gallery. During 2024 and 2025, I deliberately stepped away from exhibiting to dedicate my time to travel, observation and artistic development. These years became a period of exploration across Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Spain, where I visited museums, met artists, exchanged ideas, developed new projects and immersed myself in different cultures and environments. Rather than presenting finished works, I chose to gather experiences. Many of the encounters, projects and reflections from this period are documented in my Journal and became the foundation for the work that followed. Sometimes, stepping away is the only way to move forward
