¨Selfportrait III¨ completes the arc with stillness. The face is reconstructed, scraped, and sealed in a pale mask. The eyes are heavy black voids, no longer reacting but absorbing. The mouth withdraws rather than being forcibly closed. Against an oppressive red field, the figure survives not through resistance, but through emotional shutdown. The battle has moved inward. The SelfPortraits series is not an exploration of likeness, but of psychological survival. Across three large-scale works, the face becomes a site where identity is pressured, fractured, and ultimately sealed off.
