"Selfportrait II" shifts from assault to erosion. The face dissolves into a post-apocalyptic mental landscape. Small suns burn in the eyes a sunrise and a sunset marking time, consciousness, and the fading of inner horizons. A broken knife at the neck suggests that former tools of defense have lost their power. The self is no longer being struck; it is being worn away. The SelfPortraits series is not an exploration of likeness, but of psychological survival. Across three large-scale works, the face becomes a site where identity is pressured, fractured, and ultimately sealed off.
