Dancers in the frost Dark, elusive figures turn through a fractured field of white, lilac and rose. Curving gestures suggest bodies in motion, emerging from and disappearing into the richly worked surface. Vertical streaks and broken layers of oil paint evoke frost, while flashes of magenta bring warmth into the wintry atmosphere. Moving between abstraction and figuration, Dancers in the frost holds a dance in suspension, leaving its participants only partly revealed. Oil on canvas Canvas: 41 × 33 cm Framed: 54 × 46 cm
